Why did you choose Woolworth and the training and development program to become a Retail Specialist (Handelsfachwirt)?
After completing my secondary education, I was specifically looking for a development program that not only conveys solid theoretical knowledge but also has a strong practical focus. Through my aunt, who worked at Woolworth GmbH for many years, I already knew that the company provides extensive know-how and offers the opportunity to take on responsibility at an early stage. That especially appealed to me and motivated me to pursue a career at Woolworth.
Which tasks during your training and development do you enjoy the most?
During my training and development period, I particularly enjoyed being involved in new store openings and revitalization projects. In day-to-day operations, some of my favorite tasks include rotating seasonal transition areas and stocking them with current, fresh seasonal merchandise.
Briefly describe your career path within the training and development program and your future goals.
I started in September 2020 at Store 1130 in Hamburg-Niendorf. After six months, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of deputy store manager. In July 2022, I was then offered the chance to oversee Store 1483 in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, which I supported as acting store manager. My goals include continuously developing my core competencies so that, in the short to medium term, I can take on greater responsibility and successfully drive and further develop the areas I am responsible for.
